Howell Farms in Idaho

Ashton, Idaho

The Howell's are one of the longest farming families in the State of Idaho. My Great-Great Grandfather Thomas Charles Davis Howell was among the first Mormon settlers in Franklin, Idaho in 1860. He was born in Goldsboro NC in 1814. His family migrated to Gibson County Tennessee about 1830. They joined the Mormons at Nauvoo Ill in 1845, and he served with the Mormon Battalion traveling to CA in 1846. He traveled through Fort Hall Idaho in 1847 on his way back east and then returned to Utah in 1852 captaining a wagon train.
